Your Pet Care Associate works hard to give the best service possible.  If you would like to appreciate your Associate with a gratuity, you may leave cash, a separate check, or you may add the amount to your payment check and we will make sure they receive it and know it is from you.  If you would like to put a gratuity on your credit or debit card, simply e-mail or call the office and we will take care of that for you.

Frequency of Visits:   We require at least one visit to your home every day while you are away.  Your pets are part of your family, and used to social interaction with you.  Leaving them alone too long makes them lonely, sad, stressed, and vulnerable to many kinds of dangers.  We do realize that this policy may make some potential clients choose another Sitter whose policies are less stringent.  That's okay with us.  We want clients who want the best for their pets, because that's what we want to give.

Right to Refuse Service:

We reserve the right to refuse or decline reservations for service.  We wil not accept a request for service if we feel the Visit schedule is inappropriate (too few visits) for the health of your pet or the safety of your home.  We also reserve the right to refuse service if your home is not safe or poses possible danger to our Associate.

Leash Policy:

We do not walk dogs off leash.  For your pets safety and the safety of our Associates, we do not utilize retractable leashes.  All clients must provide a standard 4 to 6 foot leash of appropriate size/strength for their pet's size and weight.  The leash must be in good condition and not have weakened areas (tears, holes, additional punctures or chewed areas).  We may require a Martingale, a padded Control,  or Illusion type collar or harness to ensure your pet's safety and the safety of our Associates during walks.

Current Rabies and Registration Tags must be on your pet's collar, leash, or available to our Associate if you want your pet to be walked off your property.  We strongly recommend that your pet be microchipped and wears an ID tag engraved with your current phone number.

Care-Sharing Policy:

If some other person will be sharing the care of your pets with us, they must sign in and out of your home just as we do, leaving the time of their visits and other information stating whether they fed your pets, gave medications, and if the pets went outside for potty.

Minor Child at Home Policy:

It is not our Policy for one of our Associates to visit your home and care for your pets when minor children are present and unaccompanied by an adult.  If the possibility exists of your child being home when we visit, please discuss this with SHS management prior to the expected event.
